Volunteering at the Arboretum

The volunteer application and consent form are now "interactive" pdfs so they can be filled out, saved to your computer, and emailed to Patricia at drackett@ext.msstate.edu. If you have a digital signature you can use that in the "signature" area. You can still print them and fill them out the old way too! Whichever you prefer.

We are using a NEW Volunteer Sign Up Tool created by volunteers for volunteers. So for those who are online, this is another way you can sign up to help us out. The site is called volunteersignup.org. (info) When you sign-up it will ask you for some details that are shared with us at the Arboretum, but they assure us they are not shared with anyone else. If you have not completed a Volunteer Application, please send one to me ASAP before filling out the sign-up sheet on the links below.

If you found us on or have an account with VolunteerMatch.org, please consider giving us a positive review! Those reviews can help bring new Volunteers to the Arboretum and your personal stories/experiences can be a great selling point.

The Pinecote Press Volunteer Newsletter (.pdf)

The Pinecote Press is published Quarterly. Please send your email address to drackett@ext.mstate.edu to be added to the Volunteer Listserv and you will receive it electronically the day it is complete.

VOLUNTEERS at The Crosby Arboretum fill a variety of vital roles, both behind the scenes tending plants, maintaining trails, stuffing envelopes, and assisting with construction and before the public as tour guides, gift shop assistants, and admission greeters. Both the task and the time are fitted to individual volunteers; some volunteers give of their time one day a week, others give a few hours a month. The Crosby Arboretum welcomes volunteers with a wide range of interests and talents.

The Crosby Arboretum, Mississippi State University Extension Service, is looking for some good volunteers! Whether you have a few hours a month, a few weekends out of the year or just a few weeks while you are relocated to the coast for the winter, we have a place for you.
