Phenology and Crosby’s Phenology Trail
Saturday, May 8, 10:00 to Noon
What is phenology? Simply put, it is “nature’s calendar”, or the study of recurring biological events. Learn about this popular subject with Terry Downs, Pearl River County Master Gardener, who is fulfilling her LSU Advanced Master Gardener Training requirements. Throughout history, humans have historically tracked dates of plant behavior: the first day of cherry blossoms in Japan, peach blooms in China, harvest dates of French grapes, but phenology is so much more! After the program, walk Crosby’s phenology trail with Terry and Gail Bishop from the USA National Phenology Network. Reservations required. Program is free to all!
