Printmaking Workshop: Cyanotypes

Saturday, May 1, 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.

Celebrate the renovation of Crosby’s art gallery with a cyanotype printmaking workshop and the opening of the art exhibit Wild Grace: Grasslands and the River Stour by Carolyn Norton, fine art printmaker, photographer, and book artist who has taught visual arts at the university level for 14 years and the instructor for this workshop. You can see more of her work at carolynnortonart.com or @carolynnortonart. A cyanotype or sun print is a camera-less way of making images. We will forage for natural materials in the arboretum, arrange them on photo-sensitive fabric, expose them to the sun, and develop them in water to create blue images of your foraged plants. Cost is $10 for members and $15 for non-members. Registration is required. Call 601-799-2311 to sign up. Please note that Covid-19 protocol is to be followed in both indoor and outdoor Extension programs, with face coverings and social distancing.
