BugFest 2026! Family Fun Under the Harvest Moon

Friday Sept 25- Friday Night Fun Under the Harvest MOON! 5:00pm – 8:30pm Open to the Public! $10 General Admission, children under 5 (free)

WE WELCOME and ENCOURAGE partcipants of all ages to come out and spend time with us celebrating the beauty and intrigue of nature as a community!

Enjoy a family evening that kicks off with a collection of storytellers, from near and far, who will bring to life the facts, myths, and folklore of our insect friends.

Want to keep busy while enjoying the show? Take the opportunity throughout the night to try your hand at drawing as a community or spend some time designing your very own wings!

We welcome all-ages to come out and enjoy these self-guided activities where participants are encouraged to create their own works of art to display or wear. 

Thirsty/Hungry? Break away and enjoy cuisine from some of Picayune's finest food trucks.

Want to join us for a NIGHT HIKE? You can! At 7:00 PM, participate in a Guided Night Hike with some of our environmental educators, where we will listen for and observe creatures of the night, as we hike deep into the Swamp Forest to enjoy stunning views of the Harvest Moon together. (WE Encourage you to bring a flashlight.)
